About SSV College
Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College (accredited with ‘A++’ grade by NAAC, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University), named after the great seer and philosopher Jagadguru Adi Sankara, was established in 1967 under the auspices of Sree Sankara Trust, pioneered by P. N. Namboothiri, a Gandhian, philanthropist and an enterprising educationalist. He envisioned the empowerment of youth through quality education and value system and worked hard to bring socio-cultural and economic development with a blend of philosophic and spiritual knowledge. Adhering to the doctrines set by the founder, Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College stands proud today as an institution of excellence having celebrated the golden Jubilee and rendering illustrious service to the students who acquire acclaim globally.

In accordance with the regulations by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, Kerala has launched a scheme on skill development based higher education as a part of College/ University education: Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF (National Skill Qualifications Framework).
Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College presently offers the three-year degree program in Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Tourism and Hospitality Management from the academic year 2021-2022 [ B.Voc (Honours) Tourism and Hospitality Management - 4 Year Degree ]. This fast-changing, dynamic and highly competitive field expects well-trained hospitality professionals with sound work ethics. The college helps the students acquire a proper understanding of business and the principles that go into its success so that the aspirants get to experience theoretical and practical requirements that fetch them openings in Tourism or Hospitality, specifically administrative or management positions.
